MERCER UNIVERSITY COLORGUARD

Are you interested in being a part of one of the best collegiate visual ensembles in the South? Then join us!

Who Are We?

The Mercer University Colorguard is comprised of hard-working and talented individuals who come from a variety of different skill levels! We have members who have performed throughout their high school careers, some who have marched with different DCI bands, and even some members who have never spun at all!

What Do We Do?

Our members incorporate dance, flag, and rifle into all routines, and this year, for the first time ever, we are excited to welcome Majorettes into our visual ensemble! Our goal is to provide a fun and entertaining performance for audiences throughout the Game Day festivities!

What is the time commitment?

We offer Colorguard as part of the Marching Band from August to November, and then Basketball Guard from November to March.

Football Colorguard practices with the Marching band on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm (and some Fridays).

Basketball Guard includes a halftime performance feature, independent of the band, while also performing and dancing to the tunes of the Pep Band. Basketball Guard practices one night a week for two hours, and on the mornings of performances.

Are there Auditions?

There are NO auditions to be a part of our team, we will teach you everything you need to know during our Spring Clinics and Band Camp!

Important Dates:

  • Band Camp 2020:

    Move-In: August 5th
    Camp: 5th-14th

What is Spinfest ?

Spinfest is our annual Spring clinic, open to any age high school student and any current Mercer students! Spinfest is a time to get an inside look at Mercer's Colorguard, learn some new tricks, and have fun! We invite all to hang out with us for the weekend, spending Saturday and Sunday learning body technique and flag routine.

***IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE***
Due to the suspension of all Spring activities on campus in order to comply with social distancing regulations, we will no longer be hosting Spinfest for this year. However, we still want to connect with prospective members, so please follow us on Instagram (@mercercolorguard) or contact our Instructor, Marina Mixon, if you have questions!
